Mini Musicians: A Great Introduction to Music for Toddlers & Preschoolers

Mini Musicians at Omaha School of Music & Dance is a theory-based music program teaching all students to read music while being exposed to multiple percussion and string instruments. When students learn rhythms, symbols, and notation, it’s much easier to learn to play any instrument. Mini Musicians is based on strong fundamentals, positivity, building skills, and having lots of fun!

For beginner students 18-months to 5-years-old, Mini Musicians offers the most age appropriate and comprehensive music education. This program truly gets young students excited about music for life.

While our classes certainly help your child develop a lifelong love for music, they also do more than that: They help children develop language, math, social, emotional, and physical skills, as well — all in the context of joyful, musically rich play!

And … it’s research-proven! The curriculum of our Mini Musicians program is based on neurological research from Johns-Hopkins that has found that musical activities enhance the higher brain functions.

Classes meet every week and are 30 minutes long.

Helping Kids Excel at Learning Music

When kids have the opportunity to begin their music education with a comprehensive introduction to the basics, they are more easily able to excel when they do move into private or group lessons and can move through the material much quicker and with a greater understanding than their peers. This program is a great place to start your children, nieces, nephews, or grandchildren if you want to see them learning and having fun!

Classes May Be Small, But They're Packed With Big-Time Fun!

Class sizes for this program are smaller than our typical group classes — and this is by design. We understand that children of this age group often need more individualized attention and need to be exposed to concepts several times before mastering them. We often suggest our “Mini Musicians” program to younger students before they begin private or group music lessons.
