Playing the Guitar is like accepting an invite into a world of many options and possibilities for your favorite musical instrument. Here at Omaha School of Music and Dance our professionally trained instructors can help any student learn to play any style of guitar that they’d like. We also offer a variety of guitars here in the school if you are looking to try them on for size and preference. Each guitar has its own history and uniqueness to it – we look forward to helping you grow as a musician while you figure out which guitar works best for you.
Choosing the right guitar may be a trial and error process. Our instructors are patient and educated in the instruments that they teach. They would love to work with you and get to know you so that the right fit is made. If you have a few options in mind OSMD instructors will help you make your choice – if you have no idea where to start, continue reading to get a feel for some of the most popular choices in the guitar world.
Three Common Guitars
- Electric – if you enjoy cranking up the volume and feeling more electric vibes, this would be your number one route to go. Your beautiful music will be amplified through speakers and can reach the ears of a huge crowd.
- Bass – The bass guitar, electric bass, or simply the bass, is the lowest-pitched member of the guitar family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses.
- Classic – An acoustic wooden string instrument with strings made of gut or nylon, it is a precursor of the modern acoustic and electric guitars, both of which use metal strings.
