4 Benefits of Guitar Lessons
It teaches you to stay humble. While you begin to understand the guitar and learn how to play your favorite songs, you will quickly realize that there is always more to learn. It is said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become great at something. Even with those 10,000 hours, there will always be a new style and a new technique to learn. As a result, learning guitar will help you stay humble, in knowing that there will always be more to learn!
Guitar lessons will also help you to set goals. We see kids walk out of their lessons excited when they finally nail that chord that they had been struggling with in the past, or when they can play their favorite song without making a mistake! Learning guitar is not something that happens overnight, so setting goals and achieving them is what helps you understand that hard work pays off.
You will also realize that you will need to work hard. When you and your instructor set goals together, having that ambition and drive to work hard will help you as you practice throughout the week. Whether it is learning a minor scale, or understanding how to strum a pattern correctly, working hard is key when it comes to learning a new instrument.
Learning guitar also helps boost your creativity. When you first start taking guitar lessons, you being to learn the basics about the instrument itself. But once that part is mastered, you will become confident in experimenting with strum patterns, writing melodies, chord progressions, and even songs!
