Interested in becoming a Violinist?

“Violin playing is a physical art with great traditions”

Violin is an instrument made out of wood that has four strings and is struck by a bow in order to be played. Fun fact, the violin is about 400 years old and is sometimes called a fiddle. If you are intrigued and would like to learn more about this amazing instrument- join us at Omaha School of Music and Dance to learn more during your time with our professional instructors. Below, you can check out a few of the many benefits you will receive while playing the violin!

How can playing the Violin can benefit you at Omaha School of Music and Dance:

1. Sensory Development

Here at Omaha School of Music and Dance, our instructors are trained professionally.  They will be able to help you or the student you are enrolling with understanding the ins and outs of the Violin.  Because the violin has only four strings (D, G, A, and E), learning how to correctly strike the strings and where to strike the strings will be a great sensory lesson.  Learning and understanding how each string sounds and feels when the bow strikes it will be a core objective. Being a musician is all about hearing and singing tones and pitches.  You’ll put your senses to work as you will hear higher pitches coming from your violin.

2. Memory/Attention Span

Learning something new challenges us to push ourselves in ways that we want and/or need. Choosing to play the Violin can boost your memory and attention span as you are learning through repetition. Our instructors pay very close attention to mapping out the best curriculum for each and every one of their students. Paying attention to our students’ learning style(s) will help the instructors utilize different techniques to use in order to help all students absorb information.

3. Emotional Outlet

With such trying times these days, finding a positive outlet can be great for emotional stability. Having a one-on-one session with an instructor can really boost your spirits. Your instructor will be able to work with you on songs you love and even introduce you to songs you’ve never heard of that could potentially bring a positive light into your life.

At Omaha School of Music and Dance, we take pride in putting our students first. We want you to be the very best version of yourself! We hope to hear from you soon and get you enrolled in any class that you want or need. While we encourage learning music in all situations, we firmly believe that a private violin music lesson will be a significant benefit to you and your violin endeavors. Our professional instructors will help you progress quickly and exceed your expectations. They will also make your lesson fun and tailor the lesson to your specific needs!

We are so excited to have you join our OSMD family!
