Why Students and Parents Prefer Us Over Our Competitors
Why Choose Us for Music Lessons
If the majority of music studios in Omaha seem to have qualified and friendly teachers, experience with teaching children, and a recital at the end of the year, aren’t they all pretty much the same? Does it really matter which place you decide to enroll at? Yes!
There are 4 main things that can make a huge difference in the quality of instruction your child receives. The amount of extra work and hassle that parents have to deal with and the overall enjoyment and satisfaction of being involved with a music program.
Here are 4 things that every parent should consider before deciding on a music school for their child.
Learning music is not just a matter of having a qualified teacher, but also having an environment that is focused on music education. In a professional school environment, a student won’t be distracted by television, pets, ringing phones, siblings or anything else. With only 1/2 to one hour of lesson time per week, a professional school environment can produce better results since the only focus at that time is learning music. Students in a school environment are also motivated by hearing peers who are at different levels and by being exposed to a variety of musical instruments.
Being a part of a large professional studio also means that students have the option to perform in recitals. We hold one recital a year, which allows our students to be a part of a great performance opportunity. With private teachers or lessons that come to your home, there aren’t opportunities to enhance performing skills. These recitals are completely optional and extremely low pressure!
Choosing an established music school also means that there is a choice of more than one teacher for each instrument. This means that we are able to match musical ability, personality, styles and genres with the perfect teacher. Many private teachers or small studios are not able to provide these options to their students. By being able to match students with the ideal teacher, maximum learning can be achieved.
Different students require different teaching approaches. Some students progress best with the peer interaction and class motivation of a group session. Other students prefer the focused concentration of an individual lesson. Once a student is more advanced private lessons are suggested to master advanced techniques. Make sure that your student has the option to select the learning style that is best suited for them.
Starting in a group setting often makes lessons exciting and fun through friendly interactions a the familiarity of a classrooms setting. A group class encourages students to learn the basics of music and their instrument before progressing into private lessons to master more difficult skills.
Our brand new and expanded facility makes it extremely easy and convenient to have multiple kids in lessons at the same time. This means that while one student is in a lesson, another student can take lessons simultaneously. The large number of lesson rooms makes scheduling a breeze. Instead of waiting for multiple students to take lessons one at a time, they can start and finish together while still taking separate lessons. Parents are also able to take a lesson of their own while their child is in a lesson.
The incorporation of a music and dance studio also means that instead of running between two places, both activities are located in the same convenient location. This saves valuable travel time between activities.
In many studios the teacher or the studio owner conducts and teaches classes and so does the administration. By trying to do two jobs at once, the class may suffer as the teacher has to use class time for customer service issues, or the studio may have no customer service available if the teacher is in a class. To have a good experience it is important to choose a studio that can assist you with details like costumes or schedules, even if a teacher is occupied in a class. Our studios have office staff on hand during all regular class times, so you can get immediate assistance.
Many Omaha studios do not offer around the clock customer service. Our front desk is always open and attended during all business hours. This allows for any needs from the parent or student to be addressed immediately and at any time during the day.
Why Choose Us for Dance Classes

Dance is a very physical activity that requires a lot of jumping. This can put stress on bones and joints. Most dance footwear is thin and light, which does not provide any cushioning or support. The shock of dance movement can place a lot of pressure on the knees and back of a dancer. The best way to prevent against potential injury is by choosing a studio with a professional “floating floor”. A floating floor is a dance floor that rests on a system of high-density foam, which absorbs the shock of jumping and landing. A high-density foam base is superior to a “sprung” floor, which usually consists of a wood structure built on the regular floor.
The top layer of the dance floor is also an important factor. A vinyl composite “marley” floor is accepted worldwide as the best surface layer for recreational to professional dance. Facilities such as the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England, and Riverdance – The Touring Show, all use marley floors as their dance surface. A marley floor allows dancers to slide, with a degree of “controlled slip”, but is not slippery so there is less risk of slips and falls. Very few studios use professional marley floors because of the expense involved, and usually opt for a regular floor tile for a studio floor.
All of our studio locations have floating floors that have over 700 high-density foam blocks under the floor surface and a marley top surface that is imported from England. Our special floors help reduce the risk of injuries and allow students to dance longer without getting tired.
If the dance class has fewer students in it each child will receive more personalized attention, learn more and have more fun. With younger students smaller classes make it easier for a teacher and their assistant to organize the class and make sure each student understands the concepts and instructions. Our smaller class sizes make sure that no fundamental concepts are being missed. A smaller class size also allows our teachers to ensure that students are not developing bad habits or improper technique.
Our studio limits all of our classes (ages 6 and up) to a maximum of just 12 students per class. Around the Omaha area, classes these size are usually much more expensive.
Most studios put on a year-end recital in a theater. Students that perform in these dance recitals must have a costume for their dance number. Some studios require parents to sew their child’s costumes or have their parents find their own seamstress to do the sewing for them. This can be inconvenient and frustrating for parents who are busy or simply can’t sew. Many studios also charge a costume deposit and then an expensive balance later in the year. Our costumes are at a set price that parents are made aware of at time of registration. No extra fees are added on later and all costs are discussed at registration. Our studios purchase the costumes for the students, deliver them to the students right in their class and take care of any alterations. Parents do not have to worry about any costume hassles. Few studios in Omaha offer these kinds of conveniences for their students.
