Do you have a passion for singing? We are just the right atmosphere for you or your child! Vocal music is such an important outlet for so many people. Vocal music requires zero instruments – your voice is like your instrument – it can be used anytime and anywhere! Here at OSMD we have a great variety of instructors that have been professionally trained to teach you. In this blog article, we hope that you can relate to some of the pros of taking private voice lessons!
Singing is something that comes very naturally to people who have an ear for pitch and rhythm. What doesn’t come naturally is the ability to correctly read music while singing, follow different tempos by looking at them, and possibly being able to match pitch without any professional teaching. We encourage you to continue reading if you are interested in learning more and exploring more of the world of singing. Whether you’re preparing for an audition or preparing for a part in a performance – you would fit right in, here at Omaha School of Music and Dance!
Here are just three of the many ways that voice lessons can benefit you as an artist as well as a person in general:
1. Music Knowledge & Posture
As a vocal musician, we work really hard on identifying and understanding the music notes as well as all of the lines, chords, and notes. Our trained professionals will cater to a curriculum that will meet your needs and wants. Posture and the way you use your diaphragm is also important! Engaging your core can help you improve your breathing as you sing.
2. Building Confidence
When you are taught to stand tall and sing from your core, it is possible to feel like you can do anything and everything you set your mind to! Nailing a note that you’ve worked so hard for can also be achieved – and when you have met your goal(s), you are given this sense of accomplishment that no one can take from you! Hitting the hard notes, diving into a new character for performance, or even strengthening your ability to bring a unique part of you to a stage takes a lot of confidence. The instructors at OSMD are so great at building up their students – we are truly excited to see and hear you reach your goal(s)!
3. Knowledge that lasts a lifetime
I myself have taken voice lessons from a solid handful of amazing instructors, the information that is retained during a music lesson or class can stick with you! You start to develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of genres of music as well as how talented an artist really is. You’ll be able to hear music and pick out notes that you would have never thought to pay attention to. Singing your favorite songs will also change! You’ll strengthen your breathing techniques and truly find a better understanding of the reason why everything you learn has a purpose and meaning.
If this information has resonated with you – we would love to hear from you! Voice lessons can be offered through private lessons and musical theater classes!
