Keep your Children Engaged this Summer OSMD’s Moana Summer Dance Camp!
Fun-filled, school-free summer days are upon us! Summer break is great for kids, but are you also looking to keep your child engaged with continued learning opportunities? Well, look no further! The Moana themed summer dance camp at the Omaha School of Music and Dance provides learning, movement, and fun for many age groups!
The summer camp will be Monday, July 10th – Thursday, July 13th. In addition, the camp will be divided into two age groups. The younger group, ages 3-6, will go from 9:30am-Noon. The older group will go from 1:30pm-4:00pm.
Today, we are going to focus on the benefits of our summer dance camp has on school age children including movement through dance, creativity development, and socialization with other kids in a controlled and positive atmosphere.
Movement through Dance
Firstly, the Moana dance camp will provide healthy movement and exercise for children through dance. Kids will move and groove and burn all that pent up energy! Dancing is a fun way to strengthen muscles and get the blood pumping – and any one can do it! Please note that children do not need to have prior dance experience to attend the dance camp, as our teachers will tailor the routine to accommodate everyone. As we finish our dance camp, the children will perform what they’ve learned with a small performance.
Creativity Development
It’s no secret that creative development has many long-term benefits for children. During the dance camp, children will be able to express themselves creatively through dancing and crafts. Creative movement is one key aspect of many forms of dance and children will get to experience this first hand each day as they learn routines and freestyle! In addition, crafts will be provided for the children in between dancing.
Socialization in a Controlled and Positive Atmosphere
The atmosphere at the Omaha School of Music and Dance is like no other as the teachers create a welcoming environment for everyone. Our dance camp will be supervised and each child will be positively reinforced as they learn and challenge themselves throughout the week. Most importantly, the week will be filled with fun activities that will bring all the kids together as they learn, dance, craft, and play!
