Matt Hackett was introduced to jazz at an early age by my mentor and friend Ryan Kisor, who plays lead trumpet with Wynton Marsalis in the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Matt has played with jazz trumpet legend Clark Terry, LCJO lead trumpeter Ryan Kisor, and Chicago guitar player Scott Hesse. Matt teaches piano, saxophone, clarinet, flute, drums, recorder and harmonica. Matt’s musical strengths are in jazz improvisation and reading all types of difficult music.
