Haleigh fell in love with dancing at the age of 3 after watching her older sister take class. She wanted to be right in there, begging to join until she was finally old enough. She grew up in Omaha, Nebraska where she was a member of the Millard North Dance Team and also trained at a studio where she danced competitively through high school. She went on to pursue her dance career at The University of the Arts under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance with honors in 2017. During undergrad she was selected as one of few students to dance abroad at The Centre National de la Danse in Paris where she studied William Forsythe techniques and performed for Netta Yerushalmy. Haleigh has had the opportunity to train in extensive ballet and Gaga techniques at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance with Summer Lee Rhatigan and Bobbi Jene Smith. Following graduation Haleigh moved to New York City after accepting a contract for modern dance company, Tedted Performance Group. During her time in New York she worked for Movement Research, taught and choreographed for dance studios, and performed professionally. In 2020 she moved back to Omaha and received her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training Certification. Haleigh’s passion for somatic practices is paralleled in her teaching style where she integrates mind to body connection through proper movement education. She’s thrilled to be a part of the OSMD family where so many talented and passionate artists are able to share their knowledge with our students.
